Freelancers are those individuals that work alone and have no company to back them up. These days, many freelancers work independently online and it is just fine as long as they can do the job very well. However, outsourcing your website design and even the development can be a bit risky if you do not know personally the freelancers.
By the way, this article written not to malign freelancers but just to state some of the most obvious complication that could arise when dealing with freelancers or outsourcing a part of the work. After all, freelancers are a great help to many webmaster and some are indeed doing excellent work or working for company that outsource work.
There are companies that offers web design as well as development that outsource them to freelancers, which is why I have said earlier that those working alone are also good people to work with. However, the percentage of them are quite small and getting a freelancer that does not know what they are doing can take your business down.
Besides, freelancers not supported by a company cannot give you the protection or guarantee that work will be done accordingly or on timely manner. Unlike when you hire company that even thou outsource the works they can promise that work will be done whatever happen.
In fact, regardless if the freelancers that were assign the task could not complete the job they can easily take over and let another one finish it. So, everything will run smoothly. The company will always take responsibility to whatever the outcome of the project; ensure that client’s requirement followed to the letter.
Imagine, you hire freelancers and suddenly that same person got sick or have an emergency that cannot be ignored. So, suddenly you as a buyer received a notification that project is going to be delayed or altogether scrap. You are then back to square one and this is not a good business practice.
Keep in mind that company that outsources website design and development always has people to do the job when emergency suddenly occur or the person assign the task suddenly no longer available. This fact is what makes company a better option than a freelancers in all aspect, especially if you’re the type of buyer that wants everything done according to schedule and work requirement.
So, if you are planning to have a website design and develop and wondering whether to go with a freelancers or a company you now have a good idea about the difference between the two.
